Dust to Dust: The Health Effects of 9/11

Just days after September 11, 2001, the Environmental Protection Agency assured the public that there should be no concern about any health hazards associated with exposure to smoke and debris in lower Manhattan.

This disturbing documentary asks whether the EPA's pronouncement was based on science or politics. Now many of the first-responders who risked their lives within that toxic chemical soup are seriously ill or dying.

Filmmaker Heidi Dehncke-Fisher and producer Bruce Kennedy reveal how 9/11's latest victims are America's forgotten heroes. (Excerpt from sundancechannel.com)

This is heartwrenching and to actually watch these humans who are dying is an outrage beyond belief. I cant believe what I have just seen. The people of New York should be marching in the millions straight to wall street and ask that when they get bailed out for 100s of billions of dollars for stealing from the tax payers with multitudes of bonuses for corruption and those heros are getting absolute shit from there Government for all the pain Real pain Mr President.I know that all who suffer from there heroic deeds will go straight to the better place in the blue sky for being human. AS FOR THE ONES WHO GOT BAILED OUT. The lord works in mysterious ways and those brave souls will rest in peace while the wall street elite and corrupt will suffer a far more gruesome fate for not helping those heros of 9!11 and the people of that fateful day GOD BLESS THE FIREMEN AND ALL WHO ARE SICK. The EPA lied to the brave heros that tried their best to save people all the while placing their own lives at stake. Sick stuff our government lied to us about. How much more? I don't want to fathom. It makes me cry that sons, daughters have to see teir parents suffer and die. These were healthy men and women. God bless them all past, present and future.

this is good site for environment protection. It is not happenstance that the nation’s strides in cleaning the air over the past 20 years coincide with dozens of nuclear power plants coming on-line and producing huge amounts of emission-free electricity.

I am disgusted, sad and appalled upon watching this documentary. You mean to tell me that the people who rushed to make as much right of such a terrible wrong are now sick, suffering and dying? And wait... they are being ignored and not helped? Lied to and brushed aside? Are you REALLY telling me that on top of all that as well their pain and suffering could have been completely avoided had the EPA been honest and the situation better organized?? ... disgusted, sad and appalled.

I never write comments but this hit me to my core. To all the first responders, I salute you and deeply deeply commend and honor your actions. You are angels. I am so sorry.

And to think that the 'intent' of their hearts were to save their fellow men regardless of their own lives! I think its pretty heartless of the government not to pay for their treatment! I mean like who really are the terrorists???!!!

  9. Draw Vinette

Disturbing documentary about the lack of concern of the Bush Government and New York City government for the people of New York City after the Bush Administration destroyed the World Trde Center Towers in a planned demolition event. Everyone in New York City was inhaling contaminated air for weeks. Contaminants including asbestos, PCBs, lead, mercury and so forth. 2,500 serious health contaminants. The government lied and people foolishly believed them.

Excellent documentary on the other 8,000 to 10,000 plus victims of the World Trade Center planned demolition event. I don't think that President Bush nor Vice President Dick Cheney had thought through the horror that they would unleash on New York City by destroying the twin World Trade Center Towers. Now 11 years after the event even I'm shocked at the poisonous air that was unleashed by the collapse of the World Trade Center towers in the center of New York City. But even more so I'm shocked by the callousness and complete disregard of the Federal government and the New York City government towards the people of New York City especially the 1st responders. When a government does not care about its people, their health, their safety, and their well being it is a WARNING sign that dramatic changes need to be made in that society.

An excellent documentary about the extreme hazards of planned building demolitions and the poisons that can be released into the air. This documentary is also a STERN WARNING to people that the American and State governments place a higher priority on making money than preserving people's lives. And when those people's lives are endangered they are cast away as lepers. This is the society we live in today. The lesson learned is simple, DO NOT TRUST the government, question everything if you have any doubts! The government's interests may not in your best interests.
