Man Made: Bugatti Veyron Super CarThe car is named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for the original Bugatti company. It was named Car of the Decade (2000--2009) by the BBC television programme Top Gear.

The Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is a mid-engined grand touring car. The Super Sport version is the fastest car in the world, with a top speed of 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph).

The original version has a top speed of 408.47 km/h (253.81 mph). Designed and developed by the German Volkswagen Group and produced by Bugatti Automobiles SAS at their headquarters in Château St. Jean in Molsheim (Alsace, France), the Veyron's chief designer was Hartmut Warkuss, and the exterior was designed by Jozef Kaba? of Volkswagen, with much of the engineering work being conducted under the guidance of former Peterbilt engineer and now Bugatti Engineering chief Wolfgang Schreiber.

Well, this certainly is a super car.
The name alone BUGATTI stands alone.
When Bugatti was making cars in Italy and owned by Bugatti family they were producing excellent quality cars also.
The ownership changes with time, but the name and quality will always remain.

  2. Alaadin Sobhy

    am buying that... someday!

  3. gillie666

wow with the double clutch technology that would make all electric motors more efficient in power stations too

  4. magarac

Thats all very nice but i cant help wondering one thing.

    Will it blend?

    1. Yohann Therrien

      i doubt titanium blend nicely

  5. Elmastapha Elyaouti

can we have the rd for these cars to go to work

  6. Elmastapha Elyaouti

good car but not for every one

  7. Anders Adrielsson

It's Bugatti, not Boogadi r*tard narrator

That's what you end up with in this world as it is. Countless hours of work, lots of engineering and scientific ingenuity along with precious resources being wasted on building road vehicles that are capable of reaching ridiculous velocities allowed nowhere in the world and burning through 26 gallons of fuel in 12 minutes. Beautiful, one more giant leap for mankind.

What a stupid car. I cannot believe you all are so impressed by an internal combustion engine. This technology is old and the exact equivalent of being impressed by your modern computer compared to, e.g., the apple 2. It is simply a matter of scaling. Whereas, quantum computing is something to be excited about.

There is literally no new technology in this car, that is why it does not scale well. Think of the efficiency 2/3 of the power lost to heat, ridiculous.

If you knew what science is able to do these days, you would be much more impressed rather than living in the past. Have fun with your cell phone.

    1. Achems_Razor

      @Santino Joh:

Right, but I am not into having a car that drives itself as in I-Robot, while a person sits there twiddling his thumbs, need the feel of throbbing piston banging and clashing roar of major horsepower under my body and the smell of rubber, gas and oil. And of having proper reflexes on keeping the car on the road so as not to kill yourself as you traverse the nuances of the road at super high speed. The other vehicles you are talking are for whoosies.

    2. Santino Joh

...maybe you can explain how using one's brain to come up with solutions that are superior in every metric makes one a "whoosy." We evolved a sophisticated brain and you think one is a "whoos" for using what nature gave us.

The point is you all are children mesmerized by a child's rattle toy. They proved in the beginning of the film that the internal combustion engine does not scale well. Instead, use that brain power to achieve intergalactic travel or solve some of societies most pressing issues.

I was not talking about any specific car. I am talking about using one's head to harness the laws of nature to come up with more sophisticated solutions. I suggest you do some reading.

... blinking lights... ... blinking lights... buy more fluff.

    3. Achems_Razor

Whatever, you are changing the subject, I was only talking about this specific car, not intergalactic travel or quantum and/or the latest, "photon" computers.

This post reminds me a lot of a little old song called "Red Barchetta".

Human beings, on the whole, have always thrilled at going at high velocities, and probably always will.
It has a lot to do with notions of FREEDOM...

  10. Janice Lane

Would anyone mind if I humped that car?

  11. Bleron Mustafa

the best car ever!!! Loved it!!!

Loved it, more petrolhead docs please.

What a week-end! It started with a car show on Baker St. (the main of our small town, see the movie Roxanne with Daryl Annah) where over a hundred cars had taken the most in demand parking spots in downtown for their own "fashion show" and.... what a bigsmall show that was!
I was stopped in my track by several different cars, old and stylist like the 1961 Imperial South Ampton and by many others that looked pumped up like a body builder with muscles. I am not a car aficionado, but my fav was a 1946 GMC RatRod, green and rusty but with guts and style, it had a 15 gallon Columbia Brewing Stainless Steel beer/gas tank nailed on it's back. The rider is as outstanding as his mobile....anyway many times thought of Achems and his love for cars. I thought this would be a day, a place, where the love of cars and machines would meet the love of the mountains, the love of enjoying the view of a pristine lake, the love of sharing company with simple down to earth folks, the love of being immerse in a community that constantly refuse any walls of society to be built around the mentality of it's inhabitants, the love of blue sky (for over a month and a half non-stop now), the love of being somewhere new perhaps!
The rest of the week-end was a BBQ, a late night dancing with a fun pre-, the Hill's garlic festival and a lot of stuff that would sound like rambling.
Haven't watched this yet...too much to see. I feel like i am a 10 surrounded by 9/11...ouf, a rubble pearl, the long face of Stephen Fry, do we eat animals or least i stayed on subject!

You guys should really check out the AMS 1000HP Nissan GT-R handing a Buggatti Veyron it's own ass. The GT-R even out accelerated a Ninja crotch rocket in the video. It's funny, because they show a camera in the Buggatti right when the GT-R starts to smoke his ass, and you can see the look on his face like "I spent 10 times more on my car than that guy and he just beat me!" lol

how much are those? i couldnt find on google

  15. Remco Gerritsen

This is and will always be the best speed car EVER. Doesn't matter if a other goes faster, they were first:P Though not to hit the 400 km/u mark, but to hit the 1000PK mark. In my eyes, this cars should never dissapear, even if the oil saga ends.

  16. Achems_Razor

That's it! this is my next car!

Most sexually arousing doc on the site. I'm not even a car guy. I drive a small Honda.

I'm a chick and I even think this is freaking hot, who doesn't like to speed it up...

    Combustion is so 20th century.

Electric or Hydrogen design is the future.
