I Knew Bin LadenOn May 2, 2011, Barack Obama, the US president, announced that Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaeda leader, was shot dead in a raid by US special forces on a compound about 60km north of Islamabad, Pakistan's capital. The death of bin Laden ends a ten-year manhunt for the world's most wanted man.

Before his death, the last known sighting of bin Laden by anyone other than his very close entourage was in late 2001 - as he prepared to flee his stronghold in Afghanistan. However, in subsequent years he issued several video and audio messages.

How did Bin Laden develop his political agenda? And how did this Saudi-born son of a rich construction magnate - who joined guerrillas in Afghanistan fighting the Soviet Union - emerge to become one of the most feared men in the world?

Ahmad Zaidan, Al Jazeera Arabic's Islamabad correspondent, interviews a range of people including Taliban commandos, former Mujahideen leaders, Pakistani officials, and journalists who all relate their memories of and insights into the al-Qaeda leader.

He speaks to people who are able to debunk some of the myths and describe some of the characteristics of the man who was Osama bin Laden - a man denounced by enemies as a religious fanatic and a terrorist and praised by supporters as a leader fighting Western aggression and subservient Arab regimes.

Would be very surprised to hear the truth. So many lies and untruthful info out there. Everyday our rights are being walked all over in the name of freedom inorder to eliminate terrorism. The real terrorist are the facist politicians running this country right now. Wake up people and stand up for your rights.

    @ Chris Thrall,

    I agree entirely.
Lest anyone harbor doubt, they ought best to reflect upon these words:

Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism, because it is a merger of state and corporate power.

If you're interested in another insider's viewpoint - of course the term insider being relative for the proximity and intimacy to OBL of anyone claiming it for whatever reasons - well, I found this book interesting for sure: (and no, I'm not an organization, company, or affiliated with one, so hope no one minds the rec. ? ) "Inside The Kingdom - My Life in Saudi Arabia" by Carmen Bin Laden.
This Swiss national married one of Osama Bin Laden's many brothers in the 70s, and she does give an account of her witnessing - granted, off and on - the rise of both OBL's "fame" and fanaticism.
If anyone wonders about the verity of the author due to the surname's spelling, she says herself that in Saudi Arabia, both forms are recognized, but that after her divorce from her husband of that last name, after Sept. 11th 2001, she also consciously chose that perm. spelling to represent herself as detatched a manner as possible from all of that family and his activities, for very relatable reasons, if you imagine yourself alone in Europe, post 9-11, trying to protect 3 daughters from death threats.
So, if you're really concerned with "the truth", here's another valid point of view to consider; one I suspect, as valid or moreso, than many others' who will come out of the woodwork now for political, religious, and of course, financial reasons.

Wow, very compelling. Can't imagine a US or European made documentary getting such access and honesty from people on the inside of those relationships. It only serves to confirm that a) ongoing disastrous shortsighted US foreign policy led to 9/11 and b) we are far from safe today. Yippee! Oh well, I just heard that judgement day has been postponed until October 21, so it will all be over soon anyway. Unless its not.

  7. Tangata Whenua

This smacks of 'mockumentary'... there's a subtle mash of what the narrator says Bin Laden was busy doing, and the image they show of him at that moment. Personally, I don't think the photos match the narrative's time-line and it has the sense of an attempt by the editors to suspend viewer's critical faculties to impose a conclusion... you-know, just like feeding mushrooms dung in the dark! I, for one, am am extremely dubious that this testament is anything more than truth well-seeded with disinformation!

Alex Jones as a source of information? Here's a formula for his type of news. Listen to any newscast. Call it a lie. Believe the exact opposite. Tie it in with your favorite conspiracy. Start an newsletter (website) which espouses an alternate view of current events. Make a decent living charging people to hear you speak. Call it news.

  10. Justin_Funski

So, OBL's hatred of Americans was based on religious prejudice of non-Muslims on "holy soil" and not wanting anyone else defending Arabia after it was threatened by Saddam in Gulf War I. Also, what kind of destruction and all out war did he expect to be wrought in Muslim lands after America, with the world's largest military, was directly attacked? Glad he's fish food.

funny, but not at all accurate...

  13. GoughLewis

    I watched this. Utter Nonsense.

Would have been funny if this doc said Bin Laden was already dead.

Dr. Steve R. Pieczenik discussed recently that he was briefed in detail that Bin Laden died of marfan syndrome shortly after he was visited by CIA physicians at the American Hospital in Dubai in July 2001.

Dr. Steve R. Pieczenik, a man who held numerous different influential positions under three different Presidents and still works with the Defense Department, announced recently that Osama Bin Laden died in 2001.

Pieczenik served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State under three different administrations, Nixon, Ford and Carter, while also working under Reagan and Bush senior, and still works as a consultant for the Department of Defense. Pieczenik also served as a senior policy planner under Secretaries Henry Kissinger, Cyrus Vance, George Schultz and James Baker and worked on George W. Bush’s election campaign against Al Gore.

Interestingly, before the "Osama Bin Laden raid", every intelligence analyst, geopolitical commentator or head of state worth their salt was on record as stating that Osama Bin Laden was already dead, and that he probably died many years ago, from veteran CIA officer Robert Baer, to former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, to former FBI head of counterterrorism Dale Watson.

Osama Bin Laden's death seems to have been announced as a political opportunity. More propaganda... great.

  14. Epicurus

    @Gough Lewis

...what do you mean go back to MSNBC? are you saying i work for them? or are you saying i watch MSNBC all the time?

well i dont. but that has nothing to do with what i said anyways so i dont know why you would even say it.

now again. infowars is more biased than even Fox and we all know that isnt even news most of the time. its opinion pieces.

if you believe alex jones and infowars you need to seek help immediately. go see a psychiatrist.

  15. Epicurus

why do you believe that Dr. how would he have been briefed by CIA in 2001 when he stopped working for any branch of the government in the 1980s?

he told alex jones in a radio interview that he was told this by other people...

so you believe HIM over everyone else? you believe his story that he was told randomly by some other person over even Al Qaida themselves? you know they would have come out saying america was lying if they were lying.

also why wouldnt Bush have brought out bin ladens body and say they killed him before he left office with one of the lowest ratings on the public opinion polls?

how do you believe this stupid bulls*** when its just the word of one guy who heard it from someone else....and why say he was briefed when he clearly wasnt?

if you claim it was announced as a political opportunity then why didnt they do it closer to election time? why wouldnt the Pakistani government come forward and say its bullshit? why wouldnt AL Qaeda who would love to make America look stupid?

you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about and you arent thinking rationally because Alex Jones has brainwashed you with his paranoia and fear. sad really.

  16. StillRV

Epic; That was scathing yet absolutely perfect.

  17. Dutch Major

not watching the doco...though have to say bin boys death was a distraction to other important events and a tool, to further extend war in the middle east...killed 2 birds with 1 stone...

that's why no credible evidence exists of bin boys death, it was just used as a opportunistic "tool" perfect for the moment...nothing to do with election day or any of that bullshit.

You cant really EVER trust any "supposed" credible person or persons fully..,.if a person or agency is corrupt...their word and related documents can be fake.

Everyone has to do their own independent research, its fine to use others research, but you cant assume its fact regardless of your bias...if you do your an idiot....because its to say "people don't lie...or more accurately certain people cant lie"...which is absurd.

So since people are likely to lie, every important bit of information must be taken with the possibility of it being fake...then do the relevant research to validate truth or fiction.

Again if you trust another's opinion...on something...and just go with what sounds good, makes sense and fail to research important elements to your life and those around you...your a idiot...as you cant complain when shit you don't like happens to you down the track...its your fault and every other idiot who is just like you.

So people who don't likes tax...your fault...people who don't want war...your fault...people who don't like this or that...your fault...you all sat back and let it happen or let it be sustained, then complained after it happened or was sustained, gratz.

Even if it wasn't important to you, it was important to someone else and would have effected you...so again your fault for doing nothing...

Such as my complaints are also my fault..for originally doing nothing..thankfully that is no longer the case for me....is it for you? i know 90% of people the answer is yes they still do nothing.

such as 9/11 happened due to the idiocy of its majority...it allowed the people with the power and means to do the crime, to commit it and get away with it.

More security and more this and that wouldn't have stopped it, as they stop nothing now...the world is no more safer, but actually less safe from this fictional war on terror... attempted to be made real....the less individual power a person has and more dependent they become on another...the weaker and less safe they become....much like a disabled person may be dependent on a carer...if the carer betrays them or fails to be around when needed...that person pays the ultimate price(though they ahve no choice)...however people in general are not disabled, we have a choice...yet people depend on the carer(government etc) as if they were disabled...how rediculious....people should look after themselves and demand the related authorities stop taking their self independence, but return it to them.

Alex pulls people in with truth and then fills them full of bull. The TSA is out fondling america come on people thats is much baloney as 19 Hijackers with box cutters brought America to its knees.

  19. Jay

With Diebold voting machines would it even matter? I think there needs to be some sort of revolution.

  20. Jay

Agreed give just enough truth to get you interested then he pours on the nut job. Too bad we need a mainstream news source for 9/11 truth.

  21. Jack1952

    @ Jay
There will always be mainstream news. The most popular and well known source will be mainstream. When I was young, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd was relegated to Fm radio stations and long hairs. Now they're mainstream and on network TV. I'd hate to think that Alex Jones will be the one we turn to for information though.
    @ OriginalGrantStreet
Alternate news sources are quite often speculative. They don't report on an event. They tend to interpret events. Mainstream news will say that airplanes flew into the towers and the government believes they know who did it. Alternate news will say that airplanes flew into the towers and that the government are liars. Both may be right but only one doesn't like to draw their own conclusions. I do agree that it can become very complicated but when we accuse someone of something we should use the rules of evidence in any indictment.

  22. Norm

    @Chris Thrall
It's hard for me to believe that anyone would use jones as a research tool! Most of the information from the any of the mainstream media giants is biased. Plus, the more fanatical a source, jones is a good example, the less trustworthy the information.
Just an opinion; Using more sources before coming to a conclusion will strengthen your opinion and/or your debate.

  23. GoughLewis

    @ Epicurus

As put simply by Paul Craig Roberts: ?“As the alleged body has been dumped into the ocean, nothing remains but the word of the US government, which lied about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction and al Qaeda connections, about yellowcake, about Iranian nukes, and, according to thousands of experts, about 9/11. Suddenly the government is telling us the truth about bin Laden’s death? If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I’ll let you have for a good price.”

It's a PSYOP... Obviously, any idiot can see that, Right!?

Now if you have a problem with Dr. Pieczenik because of his creepy CIA / Pentagon Intelligence / Assassination Operations / Destabilizing Foreign Governments / his role in creating Delta Force Special Forces / Teaching False Flag Operations at the War College / Rand Corporation ties / Council on Foreign Relations Membership ... I fully understand your reservations, but he is a top government insider.

In 2001, Dr. Pieczenik operated as chief executive officer of Strategic Intelligence Associates; a consulting firm with direct Pentagon ties in the post 911 world.

Pieczenik would be in a position to know, having personally met Bin Laden and worked with him during the proxy war against the Soviets in Afghanistan back in the early 80?s.

Pieczenik said that Osama Bin Laden died in 2001, “Not because special forces had killed him, but because as a physician I had known that the CIA physicians had treated him and it was on the intelligence roster that he had marfan syndrome,” adding that the US government knew Bin Laden was dead before they invaded Afghanistan.

“He died of marfan syndrome, Bush junior knew about it, the intelligence community knew about it,” said Pieczenik, noting how CIA physicians had visited Bin Laden in July 2001 at the American Hospital in Dubai. Marfan syndrome is a degenerative genetic disease for which there is no permanent cure. The illness severely shortens the life span of the sufferer.

“He was already very sick from marfan syndrome and he was already dying, so nobody had to kill him,” added Pieczenik, stating that Bin Laden died shortly after 9/11 in his Tora Bora cave complex.

Now I am assuming you know a bit about Osama Bin Laden, and his direct involvement with the CIA and the Afghanistan/Soviet war, and Zbigniew Brzezinski creation of the Mujahideen while National Security Advisor to President Carter. Right? If not, go do your homework kiddo.

    A final thought....

"I know that most men, including those at ease with problems of the greatest complexity, can seldom accept even the simplest and most obvious truth if it be such as would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions which they have delighted in explaining to colleagues, which they have proudly taught to others, and which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabric of their lives."
    - Tolstoy.

  24. realchron

Bin Laden was dead on Sept 12 2001. If they didn't kill him then he would have told everyone that it wasn't actually him that blew up the towers. Complete Bullshit

  25. Jack1952

They didn't go looking for WMDs in Iraq until after 9/11. They were wrong to do so but that doesn't change OBL's hatred of the West and that he approved of the events of 9/11.

  26. robertallen1

Who is the moron who did the subtitling? It is so small as to be unreadable without squinting. I turned the documentary off after ten minutes. There is no excuse for this!!!

  27. robertallen1

Whose bright idea was it to have the subtitles appear in such small type as to be nearly unreadable? This is inconsiderate of the viewer and I turned off the documentary after ten minutes. There is no excuse for this.

  28. kamakaze

you say alex jones is insane? alex jones was sane enough to predict that a terrorist attack would soon be designed by our own govt. on our own people and that bin laden would be blamed. This was some months before 9/11 and you can watch his show to prove it. Research alex jones predicts 9/11 and then tell me how insane he is.

  29. Guest

    @ Gough Lewis

    Well said & explicit!
I'll have to check all this though.
But it is obvious throught Epicurus diverses posts that he's a USA nationalist that would easily find ways to deny the CIA involvement in Mossadeth toppling, the direct invlovement of Reagan, himself in the CIA/USA drug deals of Colonel North in the Contrats affairs.
And for sure, the existance of the "School of Assasins" that migrated to Panama.

    Sweet angels...
    What a pride!

    Are you blind?

  33. robertallen1

    What are you referring to?

  34. devlinwaugh

I was very active around this time due to the misinformation America gave on the news.
1 no proof thus this cant be taken as truth !!!!

2 I commented on a website set a trap(about DNA) that i knew the intelligence agency monitored, the very next day they used my miss information as information on the national news. You need to look at the DNA testing that was done also how could they sample DNA from a person the didn't have a DNA sample of prior.

3 The body of Bin Laden being dumped into the see with no genetic proof photographic evidence or anything related to him. This was to make sure that nobody else could have any chance at testing or questioning this lie.

4 If you can take this none realistic acceptance of a mans word,I use man liberally when speaking about politicians as the truth you should never comment on anything that is important for acceptance with no proof is myth and religion.

5 America can lie to Americans but please don't treat us with the same disrespect intellect and willingness to believe fantasy.

    Weapons of mass destruction
Business men made millions from contracts and oil
(result poor peoples children killed both sides used as pawns)

Bin ladens Death Lie to appease the people and give purpose to so many Americans peoples death and maiming.

Banking cover up (poor people loose jobs and homes bankers get away with it.)

If i was American i wouldn't be singing i would be shouting blue murder.

  35. mysterioso

You know, the CIA has admitted that they faked the audio and video that was supposed to be bin Ladin.
