Liberty Bound

Liberty BoundLiberty Bound takes an entertaining look at America’s ongoing struggle to keep a comfortable balance between democracy, capitalism, and fascism. This is a film about historic events that shape history. It is a film about courage and fear; ignorance and knowledge; propaganda and rhetoric.

Christine set out to answer these questions on her quest across America: What is fascism and why does that word increasingly appear in the alternative and foreign media when referencing the United States? Are we losing our civil liberties? Is our very constitution and Bill of Rights in jeopardy? Do Americans know what their government is doing? How much of the daily news is well-disguised propaganda?

Through original footage, archived footage, and interviews with people such as Howard Zinn, Michael Parenti, and Michael Ruppert, Liberty Bound explores the state of the union and its ostensible move toward fascism. We talk with people who have been interrogated by the Secret Service and threatened with arrest for doing such benign things as sending an email, turning around during a Bush speech, and having a philosophical discussion on a train.

Christine also explores the unanswered questions surrounding the attacks of 9/11, and she takes a closer look at the timeline of that terrible day. She examines the US Government’s reasons for going to war with Afghanistan and Iraq. She also delves into the accusations that the Bush Administration knew about the 9/11 attacks and their warlike agenda is actually centered on oil.

Finally, she studies the elements of previous empires and fascist states as compared to recent occurrences in the United States: the loss of civil liberties, police brutality, homeland security, etc. Liberty Bound leaves us with the question: "Is the United States bound for liberty – or does it just have liberty bound?

Hey, I appreciate what you (the film maker) are trying to do but I watch such films to get away from lies. Once I find an obvious lie, I can no longer watch the film because you have violated my sense of trust. In particular, that World Trade Center "tour guide" states he saw a plane veer into the building. No he didn't. I guarantee it. No commercial airplanes where involved at any crash site on 9/11/01. Had you done your homework, you would have known he was lying.

    @ Walter.

You give the truth movement a bad name, when saying stupid **** like that. But that's of course the the intent from the beginning, isn't it? COINTELPRO ! Totally ignoring the hundreds of eyewitnesses that saw the planes hit. Even eyewitnesses that saw the black boxes being recovered.
Come on... Nobody believes that ****.
The no-plane theory is planted by COINTELPRO to divide the truth movement and make newcomers think the whole movement is crazy.
    You are exposed.

There was no plane at the pentagon though right?

I agree, the 9/11 truth movement appears to be pretty much spot on and unanimous in what is truth, what is untruth, and what is a lie. Due in no small part to the internet and various technological developments, we are now able to gather and share information at an incredible rate, making conspiracy's much harder to pull off because the smoking guns are much more visible. Had the Kennedy assassination happened today, under the same exact circumstances, LBJ and his Texas cronies would all have gone down for either murder or conspiracy to murder, no doubt.

Oh yeah and, COINTELPRO.. no-one believed it until they officially admitted it, just like so many other things.. the public prefers to live in an ignorant bliss and criticise those who speak out, nothing is more frustrating.

    "Move there's a car coming!"
    "Yeah yeah, prove it."
"Okay, look over there? See that? What is that?"
"Well it's obviously just the suns reflectio-"

Well that's all good and well but I don't see anyone doing anything to force inherent system change. Americans on the left like to talk about what's wrong but are not very good at forcing change outside of the odd protest.

Well you all- it's one thing to bamboozled and know it, and another to do something about it.

There are pros and cons to every decision. Nazi germany generated many evils buuuuuuut also there were many technological advancements in just about every aspect of possible advancements. I mean zombie head artificial body!
