Switzerland is a small mountainous country nestled between the Alps and the Jura mountains. It has cultivated a unique identity throughout its history. Here are some of the unique aspects of Switzerland:

Strict Laws: Switzerland is known for its strict laws and regulations. Even littering is a serious offense. People are fined for throwing away cigarette butts. The country enforces these laws strictly. For instance, bin bags are taxed to encourage recycling.

Gun Ownership: Switzerland has a high rate of gun ownership. In fact, it is the country with the second-highest gun ownership per capita after the United States. Military service is compulsory for all men, and they are trained to use these guns. Interestingly, despite the easy access to guns, Switzerland has a very low rate of gun violence.

Shooting Tradition: Shooting is a 500-year-old tradition in Switzerland. Every year, there is a national shooting event where people compete in target shooting. Even the elderly participate in this tradition.

Unique Customs Regulations: Switzerland has very strict custom regulations. People are fined heavily for exceeding the allowed amount of meat or groceries imported into the country.

Military Preparedness: Switzerland has a unique military strategy. In the event of an invasion, the militia army can be fully operational within 24 hours. The country also has a well-developed network of bunkers throughout the country.

Happy Citizens: Despite the strict laws and compulsory military service, Switzerland ranks very high on the World Happiness Report. In 2022, it ranked fourth in the world.
