The Hunt for Hitler's Scientists

2005 ,    » 29 Comments

The Hunt for Hitler's ScientistsThe British, American, and Russian governments were not content to sit idly by, waiting to be slammed by the advanced technology.

Covert teams of commandos and agents were sent ahead of the front lines and deep into Germany, hunting for both the weapons and the scientists and engineers who’d created them.

For British and American operatives, failure was not an option. If they didn’t capture the Nazi technology and scientists, agents of the burgeoning Soviet Union might - and that could spell disaster in a post-war world already feeling the chill of the impending cold war.

Allied agents focused their efforts on three key Nazi technologies: The V-2 Rocket, The Messerschmitt 163 Komet and The Atomic Bomb.

A few do not define a group as a whole. I am fully capable of peace.

    @ DeAndre Miiler,

Thank you for responding to my comment.

There is a difference between 'the human animal' and a human being. As I write these words, individual human beings are being victimized by our species.

There is not one single second in the last FIVE HUNDRED THOUSANDS YEARS when this was not the case.

    So, I'll say it again:
The human animal is capable of anything but peace.

By the way, I recommend the documentary, Lifting the Veil.

    Thanks again for commenting.

So that was the real reason why allies went into war against allmighty Germany: They wanted german rockets and ufo technology :D

well said, you are fully capable of peace, just as you would have been fully capable to be trained to be a nazi if you were in germany in 1933.

We could all benefit from defining ourselves better, as you so humbly done, than to define the entire human family.

It boggles my mind to think of all of the brilliant scientist who came out of Germany in that generation. Sometimes I wonder what the world would have become if the Nazi party never came to power and all those brilliant minds worked together instead of being broken up among many other nations. Like a giant think tank.

Should we have reinvented the wheel? We bemoaned the loss of knowledge and technologies the ancients enjoyed before Rome's fall...should we have scrapped their work, especially when so many had to die to produce it? Are humans even capable of suppressing the curiosity and ingenuity that makes us unique among animals (and yes, we are filthy animals)? I think not. And thank God, 'cause I want a damn jet pack before the next decade is over! That's all. To hell with the betterment of humankind, I just want to feel the wind in my hair as I save time on my commute to work!

and, I have heard : U.S., in exchange for data from Japan's "medical" experiments in China (do boiled identical twins perish at the same time, or such), granted amnesty to the top chaps involved, to the extent that in our times one of them was ceo of a major Jpnse institution. (yes, medical).

Could be said, well, why waste good data? I would not say that. That data came from a bad seed, we don't need it. May something protect us from even wanting it.

You fail to account for one profound factor in human achievement...motivation. Ain't nuttin more motivating than the prospect of getting physically violated or hurt if you don't find a solution to a problem in a given endeavor. Hitler understood this and that's why his grassroot party had SS punks to enforce the national Will on the Volks. The Will triumph, yes indeed, but Hitler, like a wise benevolent father figure conceptualized and defined the goals and aspiration of the Volks...and no matter how grand those aspirations are, it will be so if the Volks can be 'motivated', whether efficiently via effective demagogery, or , to account for those inevitable a--holes cynics, a bit less efficiently through the prospect of violence.

well, i think that these brilliant minds are only realized at certain time of history....sometimes in times of perils, sometimes in prosperity
if it weren't for Hitler, his funding, and the society, they would not have become the brilliant scientists

It is a proven fact that these scientist were some of if not the top scientists of that time and future times to come...As it states most of the weaponry that followed which kept us a leader was based on those brilliant brilliant men! And if hitler wouldn't have just made the real mistake of attacking russia and england at relatively the same time those scientists would have evolved those sciences and weaponry and became number 2 in the world in advancement and a world power that america would have respected and allowed to rule europe alongside england.

Because you are put to peace and have no other option does not mean you are capabable of free will'd peace!

The film is corect to some point, the caves that the later slaves were working were build by russian and eastern european pows they died by the thousands to dig the tonels. The untermench died to have those tonels done and than the slave labor moved in to produce the V2. They had a loaf of bread some margarine and gem and some soup to work for one daz the people building the tunels never had that luxury. If there were people who died building the v2 those were eastern european pows.

how about the disk shaped air crafts Hitler managed to built ?
the ones that could fly, dive into water and fly from the water.
the ones that based on special engines that didn't need fuel.

    they were the most advanced.

the evidence shows that out of FEAR of our enemy - the USA took men who were evil and gave them labs to continue their work

why are we surprised now, when we discover the 'cold war' just turned underground into a propaganda machine called the pravda media? it's sad to see how Americans have been allowing great evil to flourish
