China: My Wife Has Social Credit
The contemporary social and technological environment in China is underpinned by a vast, government-operated mechanism known as the Social Credit System (SCS). This framework extends far beyond traditional financial credit, integrating advanced technology and ubiquitous data collection to assess and rate the civic behavior and perceived trustworthiness of every individual. Its ultimate aim is the construction of a "harmonious socialist society" through a pervasive system of digital encouragement and constraint.
At the core of the SCS is an unparalleled national system of mass surveillance. The country is monitored by hundreds of millions of cameras, enhanced by cutting-edge facial recognition and artificial intelligence (AI) programs, such as the expansive "Skynet" network. Developed by Chinese tech giants, these systems are used by security organs to identify individuals in real-time, track their movements, and compile comprehensive profiles. This level of digital scrutiny means that all aspects of life, from travel patterns to clothing and walking gait, are observable and recordable.
Life in this environment is nearly impossible without the use of dominant mobile applications. Platforms like WeChat and Alipay function as indispensable digital infrastructures for everything from payment and commerce to communication. Crucially, these apps also serve as powerful data-harvesters, continuously logging personal purchases, travel, social media interactions, and conversations, which are then integrated into the government's centralized data apparatus. The use of mandatory health codes during the COVID-19 pandemic permanently expanded this tracking capability, solidifying the state’s visibility into the movements and contacts of its population.
The system rewards citizens based on their accumulated "score," which reflects their adherence to legal regulations and alignment with state-approved values. A high score grants valuable incentives and preferential access to public services. For example, citizens with good credit may be exempt from paying deposits when using public hospitals or libraries, receive discounts on public transportation, and benefit from streamlined processes for certain international visas. Conversely, acts like running a red light or jaywalking can result in public shaming and a loss of points.
The sanctions for low scores are significant. Individuals who fall onto the judicial blacklist face restrictions that limit their economic and social mobility. They may be barred from purchasing train or plane tickets and denied access to higher-end services like luxury hotels. By making a score the metric for basic access and privilege, the state exerts a profound influence on daily behavior.
This continuous digital monitoring and scoring is designed to subtly enforce self-censorship and conformity. By combining financial stability and civic adherence into a single, cross-referenced metric, the SCS creates an environment where personal and private life is eliminated, forcing the population into a state of constant regulation. This psychological conditioning, alongside the shift from anonymous cash to easily traceable contactless payments, establishes a comprehensive framework for social control, ensuring total visibility into the lives of all citizens.

This extreme propaganda piece will only work on people who limit their source of information to western mainstream media. In this day an age the western propaganda machine i.e. the mainstream media is fast losing its grip over their population. this so called fictional documentary neither is made well or well researched and the content is so biased they could not even use neutral words for the sake of appearing neutral. it takes a lot of effort to stomach watching it to the end. I am not going to even bother to repeat its content here to refute it simply because it is so 1980s western propaganda bad, and I am not going to give it any credibility.
