How the Earth Was Made: Season 1Spectacular on-location footage, evidence from geologists in the field, and clear, dramatic graphics combine in this stunning 13-part series from History to show how immensely powerful, and at times violent, forces of geology have formed our planet.

From the Great Lakes to Iceland, the San Andreas Fault to Krakatoa, How the Earth Was Made travels the globe to reveal the physical processes that have shaped some of the most well-known locations and geological phenomena in the world.

With rocks as their clues and volcanoes, ice sheets, and colliding continents as their suspects, scientists launch a forensic investigation that will help viewers visualize how the earth has evolved and formed over millions of years.

It really amazes me how so many people get so hysterical with hate when science forces them to face their follies. I now think that perhaps it is their enormous moral laziness and capacity to hate that makes their blood boil when responsible people start warning them against their irresponsible and greedy way of life and the consequences that the whole wide world will have to bear on their account. Anyway, i find this series on what made the earth very educative. I am so grateful that it gets to be produced and i am esp appreciative of the way all that research is communicated to the ignorant public that is us. Throughout an episode, there is regular recap of all that has been put out in the previous fifteen or so minutes and I find that a very useful technique to remind and put things in perspective for the viewer.

A few negative comments since I posted oh well more bandwith for me . These types of Docs were made for people who like to learn and that's why you'll never find them on TV . Keep up the good work Vlatko and thank you

After watching the entire series of 12 episodes I simply can't say enough good things about it. Pioneer TV has done an outstanding job of explaining through video clips, narration, and animation clips 12 very interesting topics on geology that occur today, have happened in the past and that all involve our planet. Having watched these types of shows over the last 20 years and followed recent developments in the fields covered, they did not miss a thing and included lots of new information that I was not aware of.

I highly recommend this series. Very educational and very interesting!

This is an amazing series on Earth geography, and how the Earth was made. I have learned a lot of new information on the first 6 episodes! An excellent job by Pioneer TV who put this together for the History Channel. These shows raise education TV and documentaries to a whole new level! Well done!

I agree with Yavanna. And there was nothing hateful about her comment. This is not educational material. It is fear-mongering crap from the Hysteria Channel. No hate mongering here, Just bad television

i watched the "original" how the earth was made documentary...they should of stopped there. the series seems more like trying to hook in a few more ratings but failed miserably. if looking for something to pass the time before doing something else maybe, but i wouldn't use it as material for teaching...anyone.

I "watched" this entire series while working ( I work at home ). Zoned out all the ret*rded drama and listened to informative parts. I still didn't learn much and noticed that they repeated themselves quite a bit.

I was pleased that they at least mentioned the fact that glaciers naturally shrink and grow. Even if it was after "scientists warn about global warming and blah blah blah..."

Not recommended. Too bad I've already watched all the BBC docs...

I started watching this due to the tricksy title......... then it was all America America America with the budweiser advert narrator presiding. I would have watched more than two hours but as soon as I realised millions of Americans and cities weren't being destroyed I lost interest.

I agree with Douglas. It is part of the culture of FEAR that we live in. The Hysteria Channel produces crap. Don't watch this.

After 5 minutes I couldn't watch this even if it is a good docu, it's overly dramatic and the loud bedding thriller music background is inapprpiate. I want to be informed with the facts not bombarded with what ifs and watch out everybody! The camera work was terrible cutting quickly to this and that is just plain confusing. Watch a BBC docu, they know how to make them although they did try the overly dramatic approach a few time in past the complaints got them back on track.
