A real gager. Very amateurish done. I've seen better family home moves. But it does go to show how boring celebrities really are. It destroys the illusion one gets from watching movie.

maybe I'm missing something, but I heard no narration, save for the parts where there were a few questions asked. I actually enjoyed the dialogue that existed throughout the docu and thought Vivian did a great job of capturing the BTS moments the layperson would otherwise have no access to.

What is everyone talking about - Vivian Kubrick is not on this version of the doc? What the hell is everyone on about - this is a rare record of a master at work.

Did we watch the same documentary? Narration? Someone needs a dictionary. She conversed with the cast, mainly Nicholson himself, and we merely hear her voice for no longer than an accumulative 1 minute 30 seconds. Not to mention the fact that the cast seem to be 'professionally' interviewed by an Englishman.

I enjoyed it. It seemed a little more raw than your standard documentary.

I love this movie. But I'd rather listen to a couple of bloodhounds having sex then her annoying voice.

Nepotism. I can hear Kubrick now, "Just give her a camera and get her the hell out of here."

This is soooo disappointing. I wish she would just shut up so I can hear what more interesting people have to say = like Jack Nicholson.

Agreed, it is a shame. Her commentary would not be so bad if she would only stop when the interesting people spoke, I.E Jack, her Father etc...

Annoying! It's the slurpy breathing and the 'sort of's that ruined it. Shame.

This is a really good, yet very old documentary of selective moments, behind the scenes of The Shining.
You fans of The Shining and even fans of this documentary. All you need to do is rent the film on DVD with extra features to see this same documentary without Kubrick's daughter/the camera person's overbearing commentary. I think this version is a re-released version that has her speaking over the entire Doc. The DVD version I saw, you can hear Jack, Shelley, Stanley and others speaking about setting up scenes, etc. I think the person that uploaded this commentary version, didn't realize that some people tend to look for the commentary versions much later, after viewing the film first. Usually online, no one ever uploads the commentary versions.

I couln't even watch more than 5 minutes of this documentary. I love the movie The Shining and I was really looking forward to watching this, but the narrator is absolutely horrible.

What a frustrating watch. Why does this prat think that anything she has to say is more interesting than what is being said by Jack Nicholson and others we are looking at? She seems to love the sound of her own voice. An absolute i**** who doesn't appear to have any awareness.

Her narration kills what could have been an interesting "fly on the wall" documentary. she is horribly annoying.
