Strain HuntersStrain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

The sole intent of Strain Hunters is to identify, locate and retrieve cannabis landraces that have not yet been studied, in order to give scientists and doctors the possibility to further enhance knowledge of the cannabis plant in the medicinal field. Many previously unknown cannabinoid profiles are contained in cannabis landraces originating from areas where there is no possibility of scientific research.

One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.

During the making of the Strain Hunters documentaries no harm was done to any person, animal, plant, or the environment. All carbon emissions generated by this project have been offset by planting thousands of seeds.

The Strain Hunters documentaries have the defined and limited purpose of information to the general public. Strain Hunters do not endorse or promote illegal activities of any kind.

It's a stupid show for stupid people. This is because it's based on bullsh*t. All the strains that are big THC producers we already know. This is because humans have made them strong through selective breeding for literally thousands of years. There are no potent single landrace plants unless they've been bred with Thai Sativa or central Asian Hash plants. Jamaican, Mexican, South American weed was garbage until they got ahold of Asian genetics. Mexican weed was garbage until they got ahold of Thai genes. It's the reason Green house still haven't used any strains found on Strain Hunters.

One question before watching. Does this have the only Amsterdam Git, Arjan in it? He knows his stuff, others know more, but Arjan certainly doesn't believe he has anything to learn. Met him on one trip...decided Id never go to the Cup, or one of his shops again.

nice series. The parts about Morocco and India was kinda of like the book "Hashish" by Robert C. Clarke put onto the screen. to see the old ways in action of preparing hashish was a pleasure. The only part of the doc i didn't like was the pushing of feminized seeds. I guess I'm old school when it comes to breeding plants.

this is a great little set of docs, and the guys seem cool and down to earth, not like a lot of the cooler then you people we get in the medical cannabis industry in los angeles. i dont know when growing and smoking weed became so competitive, but is sure does zap a lot of the fun out of it. i understand that this is their industry and source of income, but why not have some fun with it? keep up the good work on the seed front and the strain hunt guys, your films rock!

Damn the doc came up with an error message near the end, it was pretty much over so no biggie. The drying room was very interesting to see, so much bud there it made me want to smoke again after not doing so for a few years. Ok the whole doc made me feel that way lol and man these guys were smoking so much weed everyday. The hash looked great and I am not sure about the oil they made. I remember smoking various kinds of oil but it was not as much a liquid as the pure stuff they had. I am sure by time it got to the suburbs in Canada it had been cut many times with god knows what, it was more solid but depending on what kind it was it would go from being almost a solid totally crap quality to fairly thin liquidy Honey or Cherry oil that was usually pretty good quality. I on occasion would get a present from a buddy from Quebec who had some good (and kinda scary) connections where we would get it right off the boat in the St. Larwence from Afghanistan. He would give me really sticky black hash with opium streaks in it that even at the height of my smoking and tolerance would just mess you up big time.

But the point of the doc was not to make Greg feel like smoking a bowl, the mixture of the different seeds and how they grew and could be harvested at different times (and how there was a division at one place between the two countries plants) and seeing all those plants in the mountains was pretty cool too. It is to bad that the way things are going these farms may be gone in a couple of years.

The view from the top of the mountains at the end while they smoked yet some more pot lol was just incredible.

Wait! Grabbing some munchies now! Ya gotta love the passion that such botinists express for their plants. Any carbon emissions offset by the planting of thousands of seeds. Now that was funny! ;-)
