The rise of the ultra-right in the United States is a complex phenomenon with deep roots in American history. It emerged from a confluence of factors, including economic anxieties, cultural shifts, and the skillful exploitation of social media platforms. This potent mix has allowed the ultra-right to gain significant political traction, posing a serious threat to democratic institutions and social cohesion.

The roots of the ultra-right movement can be traced back to the New Right of the 1980s, a conservative coalition that successfully propelled Ronald Reagan to the presidency. This movement capitalized on public discontent with the perceived excesses of the counterculture and the perceived decline of traditional values. However, the contemporary ultra-right differs from its predecessor in several key ways. It is more diffuse, encompassing a wider range of ideologies and groups, from religious fundamentalists to white supremacists. It is also more adept at utilizing social media to spread its message and mobilize its followers.

One of the primary drivers of the ultra-right's rise is the economic anxiety felt by many Americans. The decline of manufacturing jobs, the rise of income inequality, and the increasing cost of living have left many feeling left behind by the globalized economy. The ultra-right has skillfully tapped into this discontent, offering simplistic solutions and scapegoating immigrants, minorities, and other marginalized groups.

Cultural shifts have also played a significant role in the ultra-right's rise. The increasing diversity of American society, the growing acceptance of LGBTQ+ rights, and the decline of traditional gender roles have alienated many conservatives. The ultra-right has capitalized on this cultural anxiety, framing these changes as threats to traditional values and the fabric of American society.

The rise of social media has further amplified the ultra-right's influence. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube have provided them with unprecedented access to a global audience. They can easily disseminate their message, mobilize supporters, and organize protests. The echo chambers created by social media algorithms further reinforce their worldview and insulate them from dissenting opinions.

The potential dangers posed by the ultra-right are numerous and significant. Their rhetoric often borders on extremism, inciting violence and hatred against marginalized groups. They also undermine democratic institutions, spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories, and challenging the legitimacy of elections. The rise of the ultra-right threatens to further polarize American society, eroding the common ground necessary for a functioning democracy.

  1. Far left communists and far right capitalists are all grifting, accumulating and invading just the same as each other. No surprise that Trump is a Putin fan-boy. You couldn't make this up if you tried. Trump calling Putin a genius for invading Ukraine and then commencing his own designs on Canada and Greenland. They are the 2 sides of the same coin, power hungry and dictatorial.

  2. so glad to know im not the only one based on all these well grounded comments.... i was disgusted and done with this the second i heard "radical right" and "radicalization". i cant think of one thing the right has done that is anywhere close to being considered radical when compared to the notion that u can stand me next to some dude wearing lipstick calling himself "mary" and say we are both "women". except of course, that would be incorrect since apparently "women" as we once knew them no longer exist to the point that the very word has been cast off from our world as well and no longer allowed its simple definition. we were forced into peeing with them, showering with them regardless of modesty or age. there is nothing more radical than being told u have to disregard or sacrifice ur personal ideals, ur reality, your intelligence, ur common sense to coddle some confused, mentally touched person who believes they are a cat, a woman or a set of conjoined twins with half being a man and the other half a woman. thats the extreme, radical political group out there, conservatives, magans, republicans whatever u call them cant come close to outrageous ridiculous bs as that. period.

  3. Even Ray Charles could see that it is those Of The Left these days that are 100% into destruction and full on BS from the BLM and Antifa idiots all of whom fall over themselves to defend and protect a certain religion they were told stood for peace while it teaches the exact opposite and Trump is more Liberal than any of these pricks who are calling him a racist while they constantly mention his skin tone which makes me wonder if these people actually hear themselves... There is no Far Right but there certainly is a Far Left and they are a serious danger to civilization.
When I see young Americans marching through the streets of Cities supporting Communism I want to ask them if they think they would be allowed to march through the streets of a Communist country supporting Capitalism...What a spoiled entitled generation we have today.

  9. Setting aside open borders enabling human trafficking, narcotics, and terrorism, DEI structures for institutionally entrenching racism, misguided, disastrous homeless and housing policies harming businesses, homes, and whole neighborhoods, the rise of falling trust in a systemically racist government and education and industry in its image, constant and dangerous external projections of liberal ideals upon an actual hot war in a nuclear theater, inefficient government and downstream organizations employing and promoting based on race which worsens racial problems in an endlessly growing cycle, importing millions of illegal aliens without regard to total social and political impact, streams of dogmatic simplistic unimaginative policies issued without regard to larger consequences, constant inability to innovate effective solutions to even modest social issues, continual failure to comprehend and respond to the rapidly evolving new world enveloping humanity and its consequences, intrinsic inability to respect and execute the duty of government to act proactively and firmly in areas of public safety and national security, incapability to comprehend basic biological reality and the impacts of policies based upon such failure, and so on and on and on, we find the gist of this propaganda production a selective, misinformative balm for the sores of the losers of the 2025 election.

Squarely aimed at uncritically thinking leftest foot soldiers, the message is there is no right, only the 'radical right' which is 500% white, and despite winning the popular vote are a fringe minority. The people did not run from disastrous, extremest leftist policies, they were tricked by a whites-only conservative conspiracy decades in the making, to which they add the usual curated photo sets of white people as absolute proof. Blameless by psychology, they blame the 'radical right' with the usual senseless sins and reasonings as to why Trump won, again.

This production is an example of how chronic deficiencies of thought among a target population are selectively exploited by propaganda, in this case leftist propaganda where one is treated to a progression of avoidance strategies and gloss whenever complex issues arise. The right's proposal to stop Ukrainian military support, for example, is regarded a self-evident 'bad' as the Ukrainian war is 'big'. End of discussion. And the right is out to destroy our institutions and policies..by upholding the laws protecting and empowering those institutions and policies?

The goal here is propaganda, not education or truth but sustaining a rabid liberal army that one day may prove lucrative, bringing access to the almost limitless capital political success in the USA can bring.

The production is like something from and for the planet of the apes, from the ape perspective, so worth a bag of popcorn and/or mixed nuts. This one screamed nuts.
