Former rock and roll promoter and manager - turned - political activist, Aaron Russo, sets out to discover the truth behind the Internal Revenue Service in an eye-opening documentary filmed to find out if there is any existing law that requires Americans to pay an income tax.
What Russo claims to uncover in his nonpartisan investigation is a systematic erosion of civil liberties implemented by wealthy bankers in the early 19th century and subsequently proliferated by a government more interested in ruling the people than serving them.
Since the integrity of our vote is now in question, the only power that remains for us to rein in the bloviated federal government, is to control the tax rates and require that the federal have a balanced budget. The first step needs to be a repeal of the 16th amendment. Then we need to pass an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that limits the tax liability to a very low percentage of net income for all citizens and business entities that are wholly owned by citizens. Then we need to require that the federal government have a balanced budget. All taxes, fees, licenses, and other monies paid to government should only be paid locally -- at the city or county level. A percentage of those monies will be sent to the state governments, and the states will send a percentage of that to the federal government. Priorities for budgeting must be determined by a committee of 100 made up of 2 citizens from each state. If we can pull this off, then we will have the federal government back on track to serve us instead of our serving it!

I've watched the documentary. This is all well and good yet is it fully functioning for anyone? In other words is anyone avoiding paying all taxes with a generous income and not filing tax returns without being harassed? That is the reality of my curiosity.

Impressive that some of those blogging here have apparently done a lot of research on this subject. However, what all of you are missing is to notice that any correspondence you receive from any government agency, including but not limited to the IRS, has your "name" written in all capital letters. Instead of debating whether a law exists that "you" file an income tax return, you should investigate Capitus Dimunitio Maxima and learn about the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and contract law. Go down that rabbit hole to find the TRUTH and true freedom. It negates all the arguments here. You are watching the magician(s) distract you with slight-of-hand.

Unfortunately, I see no way to avoid the national ID card because it IS now your driving license, packed with digital data. I'm not giving up driving or my passport, though, which are necessary to escape and to exercise freedom of movement.
I certainly do not want to accept the "mark of the beast" but it was issued to me when I first requested a passport without informed consent. I put all my trust in Jesus.

The United States Code (U.S.C.) is LAW!!! If it weren't? then it would be illegal to commission U.S. Military officers (10 U.S.C.) or own property (15 U.S.C) among many, many other things. Wether or not the 16th amendment was "officially" ratified is a useless argument for several reasons:

The amendment was ratified by the appropriate number of states? regardless of any typo's or errors in the copies of the amendment distributed to the states ( i.e. Oklahoma's copy said "income" rather than "incomes"). None of the ratifying states petitioned congress to change the amendment meaning that it was their intention, in good faith, to ratify the amendment, NOT to block it.

The constitution (not the amendment) clearly states that congress can levy taxes on income in an apportioned manner based on a? census. This means that the framers of the constitution allowed for income taxes and collected them based on the citizens state of residency's population. Until the 16th amendment, only direct, un-apportioned income taxes were unconstitutional and therefore illegal.

There is a substantial body of cases holding up the 16th amendment (US V. Benson, US V. Shawlick? Glass Co. and too many others to list here) all the way to the supreme court. This means that even if the amendment was not ratified due to technical errors in the state ratification copies, it is still law due to the courts upholding it (unfortunately this is how the US legal system works).

I hate, absolutely hate, one more time for the kids at home: HATE!!! The fact that I, as a citizen of this country, have to? pay 30% of my income to the IRS (private corporation) of which 100% goes to the Federal Reserve (private bank) to pay loans I didn't take out!!! Unfortunately, this is the only part of this video that is true.

You got everything right except where the money goes. The IRS is part of the Treasurt Department and income taxes don't all go to the Fed, it covers about half of? the entire Federal budget.

We should not be asking whether or not income taxes are legal, but rather if our income taxes are being spent legally. Not paying your taxes is playing with fire! You may get away with it for awhile but the tax man will come knocking eventually? and will most likely be accompanied by armed police.

None of it goes to paying for the services that it is suppose to pay for! The? scary part is that as long as our currency is issued by the Fed along with interest, the government will never be able to make non-interest, principle payments to their debt.

The only ruler i ever read about who was interested in serving his people was Germany's Frederick the Great. His monuments and civic institutions survive in Berlin despite 12 years of fascism since he was in his heyday. We can learn from history if we take the time to do so.
My mother was a substitute teacher about 10 yrs ago, they didn't properly file her w2 form or some bull-crap excuse so my family whom is lower middle class has had to pay out 50G in back taxes! Guess what, they're still paying out their nose for it, and every year it impacts with an interest rate. Great way to sink a middle class family, oh yeah and they are divorced now.
the first hour was excellent, but the last half or so was mainly speculation. the real id act never happened, microchipping never happened. like so many other docs, it devolves into paranoia sooner or later. if only i could find a succinct doc. that just states the facts about the fed/ irs/ gold standard conspiracy...
