There has to be some kind of proof, we need to keep a paper trail for our elections so that they stay honest.

I think it is hilarious that people still think their vote actually counts. All presidents are put up there by the world elite, then they run this mock voting system and let you pick between 3 of their henchmen they put there to trick you into thinking you actually have a choice. I don't understand why people even bother to vote.

completely agree, annoys me when people moan at me for not voting..."if you don't vote, you can't complain" blah, blah....We have this damn Coalition Government, who voted for that! Ian Holloway for World President!! hehe :)

I don't understand why every state does not have exactly the same system, where is the logic in that? I thought that it was the united states, there is nothing united where one state can have different laws from another. It should be called the Un-united States of America or the Divided States of America.

Tough to feel that this is in any way democratic when these machines are in use. This is pretty much criminal.....documentary was pretty good.

easy solution: use computer machine but after you vote, it prints 2 receipts for you to reiew for correctness - one is then placed into a secure paper box, one you keep. separate groups compare the computer data to paper data. Any discrepancy invalidates the election. In addition, exit polls would be taken and any statistically significant difference also calls that polling place into a recount.

However this will not happen because those in power want the ability to corrput the system (they always have, historically voter fraud has always happened in this country & propbably every country). Kep this in mind - Diebold, which, as mentioned, makes machines that count a majority of votes in the US, was bought by ITT, one of the largest US defense contractors, so, do the math...

They have that exact system in Venezuela.

There are also electronic voting systems that do use paper receipts to confirm the electronic results. That is how the system in Venezuela works for example.
