Unconstitutional: The War On Our Civil Liberties

Unconstitutional: The War On Our Civil LibertiesThe United States has refused to abide by the Geneva Conventions. They are the rules of war that were developed after World War II. Basically what they say is when you capture people during a war, you have to treat them humanely. You have to give them medical assistance. You have to, first of all, decide who they are. They get this right to this tribunal that decides: Are you a prisoner of war? Are you a civilian? Do you have nothing to do with this war whatsoever? Unconstitutional: The War on Our Civil Liberties, is the third in a series of Public Interest Pictures films that follows Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Election and Uncovered: The War on Iraq. True to their legacy, Unconstitutional provides the facts and stories that illuminate administration lies, wrongheaded policies, and the real victims of these actions - the American people.

Here, you'll get the real story behind the USA PATRIOT Act and other administration policies and the gut wrenching stories behind those affected--from law-abiding store clerks to United States Olympians unable to travel. It'll remind you of what America used to stand for and what it seems we're falling for now. In short, this one-hour film will affirm why you're angry and give you a tool to help others join your ranks.

This film has made a point of being so bone-chillingly factual, to the point where I would say that if you were to watch one documentary in your entire life, it should be this. The information and evidence presented stands to be stronger than almost anything I have been able to find in months of research. It holds back on nothing, and shows itself as a true documentary should be.

It doesn’t propose ideas based on opinion, but instead pure, raw, undeniable, fact. The information pertaining to the Geneva Convention and essentially the war crimes that the U.S has committed shortly after 9/11 is unlike what I was able to find anywhere else, and it’s easy to see that this film's creator came to the table with a thoroughly researched product.

The amount of deportations that occurred shortly after the attacks are nothing short of astounding and this film certainly served to do them justice. As I before mentioned, it also made a point of proving that all evidence presented wasn’t just theories laced with testimonies. Rather, they were facts confirmed by the Office of the Inspector General. It has happened so often today where the U.S likes to hide its defeats, and prevent its people from becoming educated as to its wrongdoings. I can testify to this first hand, having been in the public education, and never hearing mention of the Vietnam war outside of choice reports.

But, it is through films such as these that there may still be hope for the people who live here today. It's been hardly more than a decade since thousands of Muslim or Indian immigrants were jailed, and deported back to countries that many of them were seeking asylum from. This, coupled with the Guantanamo Bay jailings, has provided for nothing short of a point in history in which America was in fact a police state. And yet it is so quickly that we have decided to move on from this point, and instead focus on issues that we believe to be more relevant. Unfortunately, it does not get any more relevant than this.It is through films such as these that we have a hope of educating our people to the real problems that they face of not just today, but tomorrow. And I am very hopeful that more films such as these may be created and viewed, so finally our people may truly be educated about the significance of certain government actions.

I can not recommend this documentary for anyone who has ever had a question about the Patriot Act, Guantanamo Bay, or wondered why checking out certain books from a library could put you on an FBI watch list. Simply astounding film, and nothing short of groundbreaking for its time of publication.

I don't blame this on politicians! I blame this on all of you cowards out there that let the politicians do what they want! If 9/11 had happened with my father's WWII generation they would have lynched these politicians. "Bow down before the one you serve, you are going to get what you deserve!"

9/11 did happen to our greatest generation, they called it Pearl Harbor.

This is as bad as Woodrow Wilson.

  4. Rocky Racoon

It is even worse now and they are smashing labour and environmental laws world wide aristocrates and serts since this film was made the new President Obama has given himself the right to assassinate US citizens without anything other than his word.

Ron Paul and libertarians would love this documentary. It's interesting how George Bush was able to rationalize the Patriot Act in his autobiography last year. He was totally oblivious to the civil liberty issues. No conspiracy theory: he just wanted to make things easier to prevent 9/11.

Anyway I recommend that you watch this.

Our nation is under attack on all fronts; economically, constitutionally, socially, and morally. I really hope that everyone begins to wake up and act before its too late. Our nation is truly in its last days if we continue to let this happen.

To all the Americans watching this: your government is destroying what was intended by your founding fathers to be a great democratic nation. I am certain that if they knew about all of this they would be turning in their graves.

This was very interesting. I can not believe that all of those innocent people were arrested based on stereotype! That is just horrible and heart breaking! They will never be able to move on from that. And it is just sad that some people do not see that our government went about this so wrong.

I know we are involved in Iraq & Afganistan but don't forget this, we were also lied to by your government and as you can see we have already decided to pull out long ago.

This decade just gone will be remembered as America's worst in the eyes of the world. It is never too late to do something about it.

  17. michael

I'm an Australian and have always held Americans in the highest regard but unfortunately this does not extend to your corrupt inhuman government.
Your government is totally out of control, you must wakeup to what they are doing to your great country as it is going down the toilet.
I cannot understand why your civilians have not already stormed the Whitehouse demanding Bush, Chainie & Rumsfold be executed for Treason & War Crimes against humanity.

Checkout the "Obama Deception" on this website, the near future is very scary if nothing is done soon. I really hope the average American stands up and tells the world they have had enough of the corporate world controlling your congress.

@joe - You refuse to waste your time considering an alternate viewpoint? How's that working out for ya?

  19. joe

I will not waste my time watching anything that puts the US in a bad light but refuses to hit other countries equally as hard. Those in Gitmo got medical attention, etc....I mean they must have--they are alive aren't they?
When they kill, maim or otherwise harm US citizes, they forfeit their rights. Too bad for them-maybe next time they will think about who they are messing with. Maybe our President will ask them up for a beer--after all we all know how good alcohol is for problems so we may as well promote its use!

You know we get grief when one of our missiles, etc kill a civilian who happens to be near a target. How come those in Shanksville PA, Washington or WTC did not get treated with respect? Give W credit, he took action-maybe not the best but he did not sit back and slap em all on the back. I wish he or someone like him was here now.....

the victims of 9/11 ARE respected, honored and remembered. this has nothing to do with that but kudos on the "look at the kitty" distraction that 9/11 became to the Bush Administration. If anyone disrespected the deaths of American citizens, it was the President who used it as a tool, leverage for the Patriot Act's passage, the Iraq invasion, the war in Afghanistan....
